SPECTRA is an organization that focuses on publishing and compiling student-led research within Simon Fraser University’s Arts and Social Sciences Faculty.
Project
They requested that I re-create their logo to convey the concepts of enlightenment, education, and forward movement. The symbols they felt resonated were a book, prism, quill, and sword, with the last being from their last logo. Their branding colors must be incorporated to the new design.
Challenges and Solutions
CHALLENGE
What kind of logo can concisely represent SPECTRA’s role in research while incorporating their preferred symbols?
SOLUTION
Integrating the symbols of a book and prism in an arrangement resembling a blooming flower or chalice, SPECTRA’s new minimalistic logo represents growth through learning and inspiration.
